She was up against some tough competition, including Ariana Grande for her role in Wicked, Selena Gomez for her role in Emilia P¨¦rez, Felicity Jones for The Brutalist, Margaret Qualley for The Substance, and Isabella Rossellini for Conclave.

Before her big win for the night, Saldana absolutely stunned on the red carpet, wearing a gorgeous dark brown strapless sequin Saint Laurent gown, complete with a matching cape that added a touch of drama to her overall look. She revealed that her stunning gown was a custom design by Anthony Vaccarello, the creative director of Saint Laurent, who also produced Emilia Perez. "I just told him I wanted something in the chocolates, in the deep browns," she said of the rich shade of her dress. "I just felt really beautiful in it."

Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez lose Best Supporting Actress title

Although Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez didn't take home the Supporting Actress award, they gained something even more valuable: a beautiful friendship and mutual admiration. The duo received nods for Best Supporting Actress, with Grande nominated for her role in Wicked and Gomez for her part in Emilia P¨¦rez.

The Wicked star earlier revealed she was one of the first to congratulate Gomez, sending her a sweet text at six in the morning after the nominations were out.

Sharing her admiration for Gomez, Grande confessed, "I respect her so much, and I've always adored her." She also expressed her delight at being nominated alongside Gomez, saying, "I was really happy for her to see us on that list together. It was very special."
