Women's Abuse Group Comes Out In Support Of Johnny Depp, Issues Statement Defending Him
Women's abuse organization that supports abused women and children - Mission NGO - has come out in support of Johnny Depp. This is a rather surprising ally, which most people expected would be on the other side. Led by the former Miss Italy Valeria Altobelli, the non-profit group has issued a statement expressing "compassion for Johnny Depp in this bad page of his personal history."
Women's abuse organization that supports abused women and children - Mission NGO - has come out in support of Johnny Depp. This is a rather surprising ally, which most people expected would be on the other side.
Led by the former Miss Italy Valeria Altobelli, the non-profit group has issued a statement expressing "compassion for Johnny Depp in this bad page of his personal history."
Not just this, Valeria has also penned down an open letter that was shared publicly.
The founder of Mission NGO wrote in a statement, "Violence is a serious topic. As women, as mothers, we have the duty and the responsibility to educate our sons and daughters, that¡¯s to say, the Future Generation, in the light of the values of dialogue, respect and compassion between men and women, without any gender distinction, in order to prevent violence with the weapons of love and education.
"In deep respect of the victims of domestic abuses that we have to affirm for intellectual honesty are, generally, WOMEN, we feel to express, as women, as mothers, as free thinkers, our compassion for Johnny Depp in this bad page of his personal history".
Furthermore, she wrote, "Our mission is to educate men and women, with no gender differences, to keep talking and living in the values of love, mutual comprehension and sensitivity in order to prevent all kinds of violence, against women, against men, against children."
The beauty queen added, "As women, we have compassion and we feel empathy not for THE star, THE talent, THE actor but for a man, a father, a worker, A HUMAN,' wrote Altobelli, referring to Depp."
"Mental Health is something we have to care about to live in a positive environment where women and men can love and respect each other without any kind of abuse and violence," she said.
This comes after admitted in an audio clip that she had hit Johnny Depp. Amber Heard
Depp is suing Heard over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as "a public figure representing domestic abuse". His lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned his name. Last year, Depp told The Sunday Times that he was being boycotted by the film industry amid the domestic abuse allegations by his former wife and The Rum Diary co-star as his latest movie Minamata was yet to get a release in the US. Minamata, on which Depp also served as a producer, eventually released in the US in February 2022, by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
