'It was very hurtful': Raj Kundra breaks his silence on pornography allegations, here's everything he said

"I want justice, I have been fighting for justice for the past three years," said businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, in a candid interview with ANI. This marks his first public statement after remaining silent for three years since the pornography production allegations were first levied against him.

"To date, I have not been a part of any pornography, any production, or anything to do with porn at all," Raj Kundra stated, addressing the allegations that have haunted him. "When this allegation came to light, it was very hurtful."

As per the investigation, Kundra reportedly established a company, Arms Prime Media Limited, in February 2019 and created an app called "Hotshots."

This app was later sold to his brother-in-law, Pradeep Bakshi's company, Kenrin, based in the UK.

Authorities claimed that WhatsApp conversations on Kundra's phone revealed discussions about selling 119 adult films for $1.2 million.

In response, Kundra clarified his involvement, explaining, "As far as running an app is concerned, there was a listed company in my son's name, and we used to provide technology services. We provided technology services to my brother-in-law's company, Kenrin, in which he had launched an app. It was bold for sure; it was made for the older audience; these were A-rated films, but they were not pornographic at all."

Reports suggested the Hotshots app hosted adult content filmed in India.

However, Kundra denied producing any films or being involved in their creation.

"Let a girl come forward who says that I have met Raj Kundra or worked in any of his movies, or has Raj Kundra ever produced any movie," he challenged.

Why was he silent for three years despite being innocent?

"For the last three years, the media was doing so much speculation; I felt that my participation was not needed in these speculations. To me, sometimes silence is bliss," Raj Kundra shared, adding, "..but when it comes to the family and the family members are involved, then I feel I should come out and speak."

"Out of the 13 people who are on the chargesheet, I am the only one who is saying that this case should be brought to a conclusion soon. If anyone is guilty, then he should be charged; if he is not guilty, then he should be discharged. So even if it was 1% true, I would not have sought discharge."

Business rivalry to blame?

Kundra suggested that the allegations against him stemmed from a business rivalry that had turned personal.

"Once, while I was in PC, someone came to me in the middle of the night and said, 'Why did you get into a fight with him?' That's when I realised who had plotted this against me," he said.

He also revealed that he had contacted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), sharing the names of those he believed were orchestrating the conspiracy to ruin his reputation.

Though he chose not to name them publicly, Kundra expressed confidence that justice would prevail. "Karma will be served. Justice will be served," he stated.

The Raj Kundra pornography case involves allegations that he was involved in the production and distribution of adult content through a mobile app called "Hotshots." In July 2021, he was arrested by Mumbai Police and charged with obscenity, cheating, and violations of the IT Act.

Kundra denied the charges, claiming he only operated a legal platform and was unaware of any illegal content. He was granted bail in September 2021.

His wife, Shilpa Shetty, has denied involvement in the matter.

Last month, the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at Raj Kundra's properties and several other locations as part of a money laundering investigation.

The search operations covered about 15 sites in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

The case is still under investigation.
