John Abraham Makes A Valid Point, Says Those Who Enjoy The Singhams & Simmbas Hardly Respect The Real Life Cops
John Abraham says Batla House will give an opportunity to see the real-life of the police officers.
John Abraham will be seen next in Batla House where is playing a police officer who was an in charge of the encounter. The story is based on a true incident and the trailer has already gripped the audience. The debate of the film is whether the encounter was right or wrong and this will be answered on August 15.
We met John for a quick interaction where he spoke about how good films are being made on real-life characters and how they are even more challenging and the stereotypes we have for the cops in real life.
To begin with, he was asked about the pressure he has while playing the real-life character, to which John says, ¡° I think the pressure is actually more. I am playing ACP Sanjeev Kumar in this film who is a real-life operating officer. Infact he still operates from Delhi so the pressure is a lot more. I want the recognition from him that, hey you played me right. So more than anyone else, I want a tick from him.¡±
John even revealed that his character Sanjeev Kumar Yadav went through a lot of mental trauma and that drew him even more in the film, ¡°I met Sanjeev Kumar Yadav and asked him encounter toh hua but can you tell me what actually happened after that. He had PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder,) he wanted to commit suicide after this. The day he went to Batla House encounter, his wife wanted to leave him. When you are going through so much of personal stress in your life and after the encounter you have PTSD, you feel like you want to commit suicide. I think all these things makes the character even more interesting to play.¡±
He even highlighted how police officers actually go through a lot of stress and they should go for counselling, ¡°I think not only police but we all need counselling sometimes in our lives. Humko lagta hai bimaari hai nahi, karna chahie ya hum darke kisi ko bolte nahi hai ki hum counselling ke liye jaate hai but in the case of cops it's even more. The whole not knowing if they will come back, don't have holidays, they are always overworked, upar se they are not respected like you guys respect military and army, why? Because there is this stereotypes attached with the police. You will only be entertained by Singhams and Simmbas but you will not respect the cops and I think Batla House is an opportunity to show the true side of a policeman, the true side of his sacrifice.¡±
Talking about films being made on true events becoming a trend, he said, ¡°I think be it Article 15, Super 30 and Uri, we are telling good stories now. We would want to believe Batla House will be one of the exceptional stories that have been told. I don't think it's a trend, you should make what you believe in. Also, it¡¯s not only true events stories are working, but even fictitious stories are also working. Right now, everything is working on board.¡±
John truly is at the best phase of his career where he is choosing some good film.
