On 5th September 2022, Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt announced that they would be uniting for the third part of the blockbuster franchise Aashiqui. Anurag Basu was announced as the director, Kartik Aaryan as the male lead and Pritam as the music master. However, the romantic saga has not gone on floors ever since.
Why is Aashiqui 3 so controversial?
It was in March 2024 that Bhushan Kumar announced that T-Series would be producing this film solo with a new name Tu Aashiqui Hai following a creative conflict with Bhatt. Later, a November report the same year suggested that Kartik was highly inclined to make this film a part of the iconic Ashiqui franchise which still remains seemingly impossible.
Who actually has Aashiqui rights?
Mukesh Bhatt¡¯s Vishesh Films are the original creators of the Aashiqui franchise and they have not allowed anyone to create any Aashiqui spin-off without their permission. Bhatt told HT City recently, ¡°As far as I am concerned, Aashiqui 3 is in a deadlock. He (Bhushan Kumar) cannot make it without me, and I don¡¯t want to make it with that man. There is no development whatsoever.¡±
For those who don¡¯t know, in September 2024, the Delhi HC issued a legal order where it restrained T-Series from using the Aashiqui title (which also includes titles Tu Hi Aashiqui or Tu Hi Aashiqui Hai for any upcoming film) without Bhatt¡¯s consent.
Did Sharvari slip in after Triptii Dimti was ousted from Aashiqui 3?
Several reports have recently claimed that Triptii Dimri who was chosen to star opposite Kartik in 'supposed' Aashiqui 3 has been shown doors. However, a source close to Dimri clarified to HT City, ¡°The reports and reasons circulating are not true at all. The film is not in development, and any discussion regarding Triptii¡¯s involvement is fabricated. There is no ongoing conversation about the film at all.¡±
Is Sharvari doing negative PR for Triptii?

A parallel report has also emerged claiming that Sharvari is now being considered as the female lead opposite Kartik. Debunking this also, the same source confirmed, ¡°Triptii Dimri is not part of this project, nor is Sharvari. As of now, Sharvari is not part of any T-Series project.¡±
