Penelope Cruz Extends Support To Long-Time Friend Johnny Depp Amid Amber Heard Legal Drama

For the unnerved, Johnny Depp is currently battling a legal case after suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50million over her false allegations of being a domestic abuse victim.

And now Penelope Cruz has stepped in to support her long-time friend Johnny Depp.

In a declaration, obtained by The Blast, Cruz said, ¡°I met Johnny when I was 19 years old.¡±

The actress further said that when they met, she only knew how to say two sentences in English: "How are you" and "I want to work with Johnny Depp."

In the declaration, Cruz says, ¡°Many years have passed and I have not only made three movies with him, but I also count on him as a great friend," she continued. "I¡¯ve always been impressed by his kindness, his brilliant mind, his talent, and his peculiar sense of humor."

Cruz and Depp, have co-starred in the films ¡°Blow,¡± ¡°Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides¡± and ¡°Murder on the Orient Express." They are loved by fans worldwide as a duo.

¡°I¡¯ve seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around. He is one of the most generous people I know,¡± she said, taking special note of his support during the filming of "Pirates," for which she was pregnant, said Penelope.

And Cruz concluded her declaration by stating how she and her husband, Javier Bardem, love Depp "very much" and that they "feel lucky to have someone so special in our lives."

We hope Johnny Depp emerges out of this legal drama and can give us a quick confirmation on whether he would be playing the role of Joker opposite Robert Pattisson in The Batman scheduled for a worldwide release in 2021. We need something to look forward to, after all.
