As per a report published in Money Control, Mahesh Babu was first offered to play the lead in the Pushpa franchise. However, the Telugu actor wasn¡¯t reportedly ready to go on a transformative journey and was not too keen on playing a character with a grey shade. Sukumar then took the movie to Allu Arjun and the rest is history. The actor even won a National Award for his performance.
Who was the first choice for the character of Srivalli?
While the world loved Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Pushpa¡¯s song Oo Antava, many don¡¯t know that she was initially offered to play the female lead in this franchise. However, the actress who had already played a similar character of a rural girl in Sukumar¡¯s Rangasthalam wasn¡¯t too keen on stepping into the same shoes again. Soon after Rashmika Mandanna was onboarded to play the part.
The same report also suggests that the chartbuster number Oo Antava was first offered to Bollywood diva Disha Patani but her refusal made makers go back to their original Srivalli because they wanted Samantha to be a part of the film in any way. This time she agreed and the song saw a fate like no one else.
