Vidaamuyarchi, one of the biggest Tamil films of the year, is set to hit the screens on Thursday (February 6), much to the delight of fans. The action thriller has created a great deal of buzz in the industry as it features Ajith Kumar in a new avatar. Its hard-hitting trailer, too, has worked in its favour.

Vidaamuyarchi went on the floors in October 2023 in Azerbaijan The shoot was wrapped up, a year later, after a schedule in Bangkok last December. It was originally slated to hit the screens on January 10 but failed to keep its date with the audience. It is now finally set to arrive in theatres

Vidaamuyarchi plot

Vidaamuyarchi, an adaptation of the Hollywood film Breakdown, is an action thriller that features Ajith Kumar in the lead role and centres on the events that transpire when a gang abducts the protagonist's wife in Azerbaijan. Going by the trailer, the film will feature intense action sequences and a few gripping confrontation scenes.

The promotional material released so far suggests that the film will also have a strong flashback portion, focusing on the protagonist's relationship with his wife. As such, romance is set to be an integral part of the narrative. Moreover, given the genre, one can also expect the flick to feature a couple of twists.

Vidaamuyarchi cast

Vidaamuyarchi features Ajith Kumar as the protagonist Arjun and marks his first collaboration with director Magizh Thirumeni, who is best known for his work on Thadam and Meaghamann. AK is one of the biggest names in Tamil cinema. His recent hits include Viswasam, Valimai, and Thunivu.

Trisha is paired opposite Ajith in Vidaamuyarchi. This is her fifth outing with the mass hero. They previously collaborated for films such as Ji, Yennai Arindhaal, and Mankatha. Trisha, like Ajith, is a top name in Kollywood. The actress' credits also include blockbusters such as 96 and Ghilli.

The cast of Vidaamuryarchi includes names such as Arjun Sarja, Regina Cassandra, and Arav. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. 'Rockstar' has emerged as a force to reckon with courtesy of his work on films such as Vedalam, Petra, and Jailer. Om Prakash is credited as the cinematographer.

Vidaamuyarchi is set to hit the screens on February 6.
