In mourning for Chief Minister SM Krishna, Karnataka declares a holiday

In remembrance of senior lawmaker and former chief minister of Karnataka SM Krishna, who died early on Tuesday at the age of 92, the government has announced three days of state mourning from December 10 to 12. According to news agency PTI, SM Krishna's last ceremonies will take place in his hometown of Mandya district on Wednesday, and they will be held with full state honors.

According to a formal announcement, all official entertainment events will be halted during the period of grief, and the national flag will be flown at half-mast on government facilities. On December 11 and 12, all Karnataka schools and institutions will be closed in remembrance of the late former chief minister SM Krishna. During the three days of mourning, from December 10 to 12, the Karnataka government has proclaimed a public holiday for all government offices, schools, colleges, and assisted educational institutions.

The revised schedule for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Pre-University Course (PUC) has been made public by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB). This test schedule will be adhered to for the Karnataka board examinations in 2025. The 2025 SSLC exam schedule states that the tests will take place between March 20 and April 2, 2025. The dates of the second PUC exam are March 1, 2025, through March 19, 2025.
