Significance of Shiv Puja During Mashik Shivratri 2025
Mashik Shivratri has major significance in Sanatan Dharma. It is believed that those who observe a fast on these auspicious days, along with complete rituals, mantra Jaap, and Jalabhishek, then Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati bless them with happiness, love, and luck. Also, it's been said that women should fast and do puja during Mashik Shivratri to get a life partner like Shiv Ji himself.
Mashik Shivratri 2025 Puja Rituals
Below are the complete shiva puja rituals for Mashik Shivratri 2025 listed:
Morning Rituals:
- Wake up early in the morning and take a ritual bath.
- Clean your puja altar and then place shiva lingam at the puja sthal.
Important Rituals:
- Abhishek: This is considered to be a major ritual with which the puja starts. So, in these rituals, devotees have to bathe the Shiva Lingam with some sacred things like jal, milk, honey, etc.
- A list of these sacred things includes Ganga water, milk, curd, honey, ghee, sugar (mishri), and bel leaves.
Offerings/Prasad
- Offer flowers, fruits (in general 5 different types), sweets, and chanaamrit (made up of milk, dahi, honey, and jaggery as prasad). And, later to distribute among friends and family.
- Later, apply chandan (sandalwood paste) and sparkle vermillion.
Shiv Ji Mantra Chanting:
- Devotees can recite sacred hymns such as Shiva Chalisa or Shiva Tandava Stotram. If you don¡¯t remember any, then you simply can recite the Om Namah Shivaye Mantra 5 to 108 times.
Jagran:
- Bhajans and prayers are the major part of this puja. So, with your family and friends, devotees can pray at night as well.
Aarti:
- Conclude your puja with an Aarti (it is a Hindu puja ritual of worship with light and diya).
