Honey Singh, Badshah, and Raftaar, three pioneers of Indian hip-hop, had the potential to form an unstoppable trio. The rappers, all core members of a group named Mafia Mundeer, have been involved in a long-standing messy battle of words for over a decade. On Badshah's birthday today (November 19), let's trace the origin of his feud with Honey Singh and how Raftaar became a part of it.
Badshah vs Honey Singh: What's the fight all about?
During an interview with YouTuber Raj Shamani in 2023, Badshah opened up about his long-standing tumultuous relationship with Honey Singh. Sharing insight into their group, Badshah called Mafia Mundeer a thought, revealing he was the primary member along with Honey Singh, with roots dating back to 2006.
However, things took a drastic turn in 2009 when Badshah started facing troubles in his job. It was also when he felt sidelined by Honey Singh, who, per Badshah, was solely focused on his career. During this point in time, the Love Dose singer brought Raftaar, Ikka and Lil Golu on board.
As Honey Singh's solo career soared, Badshah struggled to find direction, facing intense family pressure. It wasn't until five years into their partnership that Badshah finally saw his first release, Get Up Jawani, in 2011. During the first five years when Badshah struggled to get his first break, the rapper said he did his homework, meticulously crafting his plans for the next 20 years. It was also when he decided he would go all out, with or without the help of his co-members. In the same interview, Badshah revealed that numerous unreleased songs from his tenure with Honey Singh fueled resentment, ultimately leading to a bitter separation.
In a separate interview, Badshah said, "I think Honey Paaji decided to go solo. Then everyone thought, 'humara toh kuch hone nahi wala', so everyone left the group."
Following Badhsah's statement, Honey Singh decided to go rogue. The tension escalated when the Blue Eyes hitmaker compared the DJ Wale Babu rapper to a nano car at the press conference of his 2016 film Zorawar.
Raftaar vs Honey Singh: Why were they beefing?
Raftaar was introduced to Mafia Mundeer in 2011 by Honey Singh; however, he followed Badshah's suit and left the group in 2013 after allegedly not receiving credit for the song Dope Shope. In 2014, the rapper claimed that Honey Singh didn't give him credit for the song Dhup Chik from the 2014 film Fugly.
Raftaar alleged that he wrote the song Dhup Chik but was denied credit by Honey Singh. In a shocking move, Honey Singh not only refuted Raftaar's claims but also dismissed their professional relationship, stating they had only met once.
Ever since then, Raftaar has taken multiple potshots at Honey Singh on X, formerly Twitter, openly slamming the Brown Rang singer for stealing the artist's credits.

Amid his beef with Raftaar, Honey Singh found support in Emiway Bantai, known to be an arch-rival of the LEGACY hitmaker. Reacting to this, Raftaar on his Instagram story wrote, "Usne sabke hisse ka khaya hai, ab teri baari (He has stolen from others, now it's your turn).
While speaking to Mashable India in 2023, Raftaar said, ¡°People think, ¡®Kya hua agar ek gaane ka credit nahi diya¡¯ (So what if you didn¡¯t get credit for one song?). But it is not only about credit. It is the promises.¡±
Meanwhile, Honey Singh in a recent interview claimed that he met Raftaar during his recent travel with his wife, and claimed that the rapper apologised to him, but went on to release a diss track for him six months later.
Badshah, Raftaar and Honey Singh, where do they stand now?
Earlier this year, Badshah publicly resolved his feud with Honey Singh during a concert in Dehradun. Badshah chose to bury the hatchet, citing misunderstandings as the root of the rift. He warmly wished Honey Singh success and hoped to leave past differences behind.
Peace and progress ???

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Lallantop, Honey Singh claimed Raftaar has targeted him with more diss tracks than Badshah, but acknowledged Raftaar's skills.
Clarifying a past statement when he allegedly compared Badshah to a Nano car, Honey Singh said he only pointed out a big difference between a Rolls Royce and a Nano and didn't diss him or release any song against him.
Speaking about a potential collaboration, he said, "If I get the chance to work with Raftaar, Lil Golu, and Ikka, then I will definitely do it because they are street talents." However, he admitted declining a collaboration request from Badshah's family.
Last month, in a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Raftaar, who has been on friendly terms with Badshah, reflected on his past feuds with Honey Singh, believing those challenges led to the best outcome, helping him make his own name. The rapper also acknowledged that Honey Singh and Badshah's feud has given him free publicity.
