Where is the United States of Kailasa located?
In 2019, one of his female disciples accused him of rape. While on bail, in 2019, he fled to India and established the United States of Kailasa (USK). USK, according to Nithyanada, is a Hindu nation with its own flag, passport, and even a central bank system.
However, it has no geographical location. There are rumours of Nithyanada buying an island off the coast of Ecuador and that his nation, indeed is in one of the Ecuadorian islands. However, the Ecuadorian administration has confirmed that no such nation exists. Very recently, the USK has launched its citizenship application, the USK also claims to serve as a nation for its population of ¡°two billion Hindus.¡±
Attempts for USK¡¯s recognition as a nation
Furthermore, the USK¡¯s website claims that the United States (US) has recognised USK. Quoting from the US city of Newark¡¯s agreement as proof, the admin of Newark expressed that it was a regrettable incident. The USK has also made written submissions to the United Nations (UN). The UN, however, is of the view of not publishing the submission as it does not recognise the USK as a nation and thus makes the submissions irrelevant.
Despite all this, the representatives of the USK have constantly tried to interact with various diplomats. The representatives have also attended UN meetings to make a presence of the USK.
The USK¡¯s stand
The USK portrays itself as a nation for the people who are the victims of persecution for over a decade. Nithyanada is also shown as one of such victims, upon whom 70 assassination attempts have been taken, 120 false cases have been filed, and over 17000 hours of massive online hate propaganda have been conducted. Therefore, the USK representatives view Nithyananda as the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism and consider bringing him before the law as an attack on Hinduism itself.
Recently, the permanent ambassador of the USK- Vijayapriya Nithyananda represented at the 19th UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights on Sustainable Development Goals. The representative made points of the members of Kailasa who have faced severe human rights violations, and Nithyananda was also banned from preaching and was exiled from his birth country. Later the representative clarified in a video that the statement meant that the persecution of Nithyananda at his birthplace was done by ¡°certain anti-Hindu elements¡± and that ¡°the USK holds India in high regard.¡±
The UN¡¯s stand
Following this, another representative of the USK, EN Kumar, also attended the UN meetings. The UN clarified that these discussions were open to anyone who wanted to attend. This, however, does not mean that the UN recognises the USK as a nation.
