The Epitome Of Art: Bride Dons Striking Sculpted Corset At Udaipur Wedding
Gujral, a well-known art collector, wore a sculpted corset custom-designed by Misho, a Mumbai-based label known for its creative jewellery designs, as she displayed a seamless fusion of tradition and avant-garde fashion.
Deciding what to wear to your wedding as a bride is a huge task! This bride gave it her all and brought an artistic twist to bridal fashion.
Who wore a corset to her wedding?
The ever-changing landscape of Indian bridal fashion saw a radical shift when Alaiia Gujral, an Indian-born artist, donned a moulded corset for her wedding celebrations in Udaipur.
What does Gujral do?
Gujral, a well-known art collector, wore a sculpted corset custom-designed by Misho, a Mumbai-based label known for its creative jewellery designs, as she displayed a seamless fusion of tradition and avant-garde fashion.
Gujral, an art curator, envisioned her wedding gown as a wearable sculpture. She wore a custom-made 24k Misho couture corset with a classic ivory skirt and cape as her wedding armour.
Where is the corset from?
"An art collector and curator, Alaiia wanted a wearable sculpture¡ªsomething she could wear on her special day that could become a sculptural piece she could display and add to her collection after," said Suhani Parekh, Misho's artistic director.
The bridal gown represented not only Alaiia's passion for art but also a legacy passed down from her mother, Feroze. The gilded gold masterpiece was complemented with an heirloom Temple necklace, a priceless gift from her mother that offered a deep emotional depth to her ensemble.
This blend of sentiments and current aesthetics meant that her clothing served as both a memento and an artefact.
How did she style her final look?
Alaiia complemented her couture corset with a pair of handcrafted baroque pearl earrings to complete her personalised ensemble. Alaiia's pick exemplifies the fashion shift in bridal dress, highlighting how modern brides are gravitating towards clothes that reflect their personalities.
The decision by Alia Bhatt and Parineeti Chopra to wear ivory wedding gowns suggested the same, as did Indian-American entrepreneur Sanjana Rishi's pantsuit appearance on her big day.
