Oops! Mark Zuckerberg¡¯s Posts On Fake News On FB Accidentally Gets Deleted By Facebook
Mark Zuckerberg's post on fake news accidentally deleted by Facebook, from Facebook
This is the textbook definition of embarrassing. Facebook accidentally deleted a couple of CEO Mark Zuckerberg posts that spoke about the dissemination of fake news on the popular social network.
Facebook posts disappearing is not a good sign of the social network
The two posts in question were made on November 12 and November 19, went missing for some time last night, according to The Verge.
In the first post made on November 12, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg commented on social media¡¯s role in the recently concluded US election. Whether the prevalence of fake news on Facebook and Twitter led to Donald Trump¡¯s now infamous victory against Hillary Clinton -- who was widely tipped to hop, skip and jump her way to becoming the first female US President.
In this post, Mark Zuckerberg can be seen commenting on how ¡°of all the content on Facebook, more than 99% of what people see is authentic.¡± You can read the post here below:
In the second post, made on November 19, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave Facebook users an update on the spread of misinformation on the social platform, and his position on the issue. You can read the post here below:
Both the posts have since been restored for public view, and in an official statement issued by Facebook, the company blamed the brief disappearance of the two Mark Zuckerberg posts down to ¡°error in one of our systems¡±.
This is just absurd that Facebook would just accidentally remove a post made by its CEO Mark Zuckerberg no less. Perhaps, in hindsight, this brief disappearance of posts isn¡¯t so embarrassing as the November 11 bug when Facebook started accidentally (and randomly) announcing the deaths of people who logged into their accounts (yes, it happened, go check!).
WTF Facebook. Get it together, already!
