Isha breaks taboo regarding IVF
For quite some time now Isha has been making headlines for one thing or the other. Be it her unique fashion sense or her impeccable work ethic that can be easily seen through the various projects that have been helmed by her at Reliance Industries. However, this time making headlines is not Isha, the astute businesswoman, but Isha, the loving mother. Mom to twins Aadiyashakti and Krishna, she candidly says 'I¡¯m very quick to say that my twins were conceived via IVF because that¡¯s how we¡¯ll normalise it, right?' with the hope that more open conversation about the topic will make it less taboo.
Talking about her journey she stated 'Nobody should feel isolated or ashamed. It¡¯s a difficult process. When you¡¯re going through it, you¡¯re physically exhausted.' Emphasizing the importance of normalizing the process she added, 'If there is modern technology in the world today, why not use it to have children? It should be something you¡¯re excited about, not something you should have to hide.'

What is IVF?
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a common medical procedure used to help people dealing with fertility issues. The process involves facilitating a woman's ovaries to produce multiple eggs with hormone injections, then retrieving the eggs and fertilizing them with sperm in a lab. The final step is to transfer the embryos resulting from the fertilization into the uterus.
For the unversed, Isha is not the first woman of the Ambani clan to go through this process. Back in the '90s, it was her mother Nita Ambani who first underwent this procedure to conceive her twins Isha and Akash Ambani after she was told by doctors that she would never be able to have children at the mere age of 23.
It is great when celebrities highlight they are just like us and have similar issues that all of us go through, and then use their reach and influence to try and de-stigmatise issues with open conversations.
