If you're searching for an affordable study abroad option, Vietnam has a number of scholarships available for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Of these options, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh (UEH) is particularly notable for its postgraduate scholarship program, which offers qualified candidates a full waiver of tuition and living expenses.

1. Vin University International Scholarships

Vingroup established Vin University, a private, non-profit university, in Hanoi in 2018. For overseas students, this university provides some of the most competitive scholarships available in Vietnam.

The merit-based scholarship is one of these programs; it is given to candidates who show exceptional academic achievement, commitment, and originality. The scholarship offers grants to eligible recipients ranging from 90 to 100 percent, or $126,000 (Rs 1,04,89,317) to $141,500 (Rs 1,17,80,702).

They also qualify for a $1,500 (Rs 1,24,883) living expense allowance. Additionally, Vin University offers a need-based international fellowship that pays for tuition at a rate between 50% and 80%.

This fellowship is worth between $70,000 (58,28,060) and $112,000 (93,24,896) in terms of money. In order to be eligible for any of the scholarships mentioned above, students must keep their GPA at least 2.0.

2. University of Economics Ho Chi Minh (UEH) Postgraduate Scholarship

One prestigious economics school that offers scholarships to worthy postgraduate students is the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh. Known as the Distinction Scholarship, it is awarded to 20 people who the university has already notified of their admission. This scholarship in Vietnam covers all living expenses up to $11,000 (Rs 9,07,277) and completely waives tuition fees.

In order to qualify, candidates must have an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, maintain a GPA of 8.0/10.0, and exhibit level B2 proficiency in Vietnamese. Furthermore, candidates must possess an appropriate Master's degree that corresponds with the PhD program they wish to pursue. All applicants will be evaluated on the basis of merit, but those who have previously published in an ISI-Scopus journal will be given preference.

3. RMIT University International Excellence Scholarships

The Vietnamese branch of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia is called RMIT University. It was founded in 2000 and now has campuses in Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi. Through its excellent scholarship program, RMIT draws a more varied group of international students.

All prospective undergraduate students who exhibit exceptional academic achievement are eligible for this opportunity. Students must have a year 12 GPA of 75% or higher to be eligible. They also need to achieve the 6.5 English proficiency level (IELTS) and meet the requirements for admission to a full-time program.

Qualified students are eligible for a tuition discount of between 25% and 50% after fulfilling these requirements. Recipients must continue to maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher in order for the scholarship to be renewed in the following term.

4. UEH Undergraduate Scholarship

The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh offers three scholarships, each with 100 slots, to worthy international undergraduate students. These are similar to the scholarships offered for postgraduate studies. The Distinction Scholarship is the first choice; it fully pays for both tuition and housing costs.

Students who meet the entry requirements and have a GPA of at least 8.0/10.0 are eligible to receive this scholarship. Applicants from abroad are also eligible to apply for the Full Tuition Scholarship. Like the Distinction Scholarship, it covers lodging expenses as well.

Students who received a partial scholarship the previous year are eligible to apply for the Full Scholarship in addition to meeting the GPA and admission requirements. This brings us to the Partial Scholarship program, which is the third award that is available.

With a total value of $6,200 (Rs 5,15, 948), it pays for 50% of the tuition fee, excluding housing expenses. This option requires a GPA of only 7.0/10.0, which is less than the requirements for the previous two scholarships. Students must apply for these scholarships in Vietnam by submitting an IELTS score of 5.0 or higher, a copy of their high school diploma and transcripts, and a health certificate.

Candidates should also submit certificates for additional accomplishments, such as articles or research publications.

5. Vietnam Japan University (VJU) Scholarships for Master's Students

This award covers thirty percent of the total cost of tuition. It can be paired with additional university scholarships as well. For instance, twenty recipients are admitted to the university each semester.
