India Need Pie-Chucker Yuvi!

People who doubt Yuvraj Singh's form and fitness should keep their mouth shut for some time now. He has delivered again like a true fighter.
It is true that his return to Team India was more about emotions and solidarity towards his successful battle against cancer. But the way he has performed in the last few matches has revealed the true fighter in him. He also justified his place with some strong performances. In a way he has made a statement that he is in the team on merit.
Many critics had questioned his name in the playing eleven. However, it was a stubborn captain in Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who opted to give Yuvraj the long rope. It must be added that though the southpaw hasn't set the World Twenty20 on fire, but his performance was instrumental in at least two wins for India.
Lets analyse Yuvi ¡ª the player after his return to international cricket:
September 11, 2012: This was his comeback match. Scored a valiant 34 (1 four, 2 sixes) off 26 balls. Also took a catch to send back dangerous James Franklin.
September 19, 2012: In the first World Twenty20 match versus Afghanistan, Yuvi couldn't make much impact with the bat and scored 18 runs (1 six) off 26 balls. However, with the ball, he took 3 wickets conceding 24 runs (4 overs) and took a fine catch.
September 23, 2012: In the match versus England, he didn't get a chance to bat and bowled just four balls.
September 28, 2012: In the disaster match against Australia, he couldn¡¯t contribute much with the bat. With the ball, he was the only wicket taker, taking 1 wicket conceding 16 runs (2 overs).
September 30, 2012: Came in as India's fifth bowler and took 2 crucial wickets conceding 16 runs (3 overs). He fielded well and resulted in the run out of Yasir Arafat. Later he contributed with his bat scoring 19 runs (2 fours) off 16 balls.
If we analyse the last five performances for India in Twenty20 Internationals, we can't say much about his batting. However, he has been India's standout performer with the ball.
It isn't easy to make a comeback to top level cricket from injury. And to make a comeback after battling cancer is really a miracle.
Let's cheer him, support him and enjoy his return. Yuvraj¡¯s batting may be a worry, but he has justified his place with bowling skills. Team India truly need the bowler in Yuvraj Singh!
