'Avian Flu Spread Because Modi Fed Birds': Samajwadi Party Leader's Bizarre Charge Against PM
The outbreak has been reported from 12 epicentres of four states - Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Singh said that the issue of bird flu is very serious, however, the BJP government is taking it lightly.
Samajwadi Party leader IP Singh made a bizarre comment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the avian flu spread in the country as PM Modi fed the birds.
Taking to Twitter, the SP leader on Friday posted a picture of the Prime Minister feeding a peacock at his 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence with a caption that said, "What to do with this person? He fed the poor birds and they ended up with the avian flu (roughly translated from Hindi)." The tweet insinuated that PM Modi was a 'bad omen'.

Outbreak reported from 12 epicentres, 4 states
Several states have reported cases of bird flu or avian flu as the Central government prepares to set up a control room in the national capital to monitor the spread of flu to humans.
The outbreak has been reported from 12 epicentres of four states - Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Singh said that the issue of bird flu is very serious, however, the BJP government is taking it lightly.
"The BJP got the mandate in Uttar Pradesh because of Prime Minister Modi and not because of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. So, it's natural whenever there's an issue, fingers will be pointed at the Prime Minister, who is also a Member of Parliament (MP)," the SP leader added.
BJP taking it lightly, alleges SP leader
"Is 'fakir' so angry on a 'political remark'? Bird flu has become a serious problem across the country and the state government has not made any preparations in this regard. Statements like - 'Yogi Ji gave strict action orders' will not solve the problems," he further said in a tweet.
Many states are on high-alert and the Centre has deployed multi-disciplinary teams in bird flu-affected areas of Kerala, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh.
Earlier, the Union fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying ministry issued advisories to contain further spread of the infection in poultry ducks, crows and migratory birds. This outbreak comes barely a few months after India on September 30, 2020, declared the country free from the disease.
