'Ethics hotline is used to identify employees EY wants to silence': CA's shocking rebuttal on Rajiv Memani's claim
I myself, and others, have utilized this hotline multiple times, months ago, to report discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimization, and other mental health abuses that EY Partners have subjected me to," Naseera Kazi, a CA who has worked with EY, stated.
Following the social media backlash triggered by the handling of the death of Anna Sebastian Perayil, EY India Chairman Rajiv Memani addressed the controversy in an internal email to the firm's employees. In the email, Memani described the 26-year-old's death as an irreparable loss for the family.

However, an EY employee has claimed that the hotline has failed to address issues raised by employees and is being used to identify those whom EY believes should be silenced.
"I myself, and others, have utilized this hotline multiple times, months ago, to report discrimination, harassment, bullying, victimization, and other mental health abuses that EY Partners have subjected me to," Naseera Kazi, a CA who has worked with EY, stated in the comments section of Memani's LinkedIn post.
'Ethics Hotline used to identify employees'
"The truth about this hotline is simply that it¡¯s used to identify employees whom EY believes should be silenced. These employees are then punished severely for raising these issues against Partners/managers using the hotline that you suggested we use," she added.
"EY does not place any importance on the well-being of people. Instead, people's mental and physical health is continuously abused, as was done to me. I am now facing severe consequences for reporting these abuses via the ethics hotline," Naseera, who according to her LinkedIn profile is still working with EY in Dubai, said further.
