Driverless Delhi Metro Derails Just A Week Before Inauguration By PM Modi

An unmanned, electronic metro train on the magenta line went off the rails on Tuesday and crashed into the wall of the Kalindi Kunj Metro depot.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials confirmed the incident and said that there was no reason for panic. They said that a test was being conducted and the incident happened inside the gated boundary.

The Metro officials told that they are exploring technical reasons to ascertain the reason for the derailment.
It was granted safety approval by the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) last month.

This is not the first time such incident has happened. Earlier in November 2016, two Delhi Metro trains collided in an accident at the Kalindi Kunj depot. No injuries were reported, however, both the trains suffered damages.
