The revered Hindu God Hanuman
Hanuman was born to Vayu, the wind god, and Anjana, a celestial nymph. Anjana incurred a sage's wrath, resulting in a curse that transformed her into a monkey.
Upon seeking forgiveness, the sage relented, stating that she would revert to her original form after giving birth to a son destined for great renown. This tale explains the peculiar transformation of the son of the wind god and a nymph into a monkey.
