Located in Madhya Pradesh¡¯s Khargone region, the bridge spans the Narmada River and has acquired the ominous moniker of ¡°Suicide Point¡± among locals due to the alarming number of fatalities occurring there over the past 26 years, as per a News 18 report.
Connecting the villages of Makadkheda and Mandleshwar, this one-kilometre bridge is located 48 kilometres away from the Khargone district headquarters and is traversed by the Chittorgarh-Bhusaval Highway.

Residents report that the bridge has been the site of several suicides in recent years, fostering a belief that the souls of the departed remain present in the area. Many attest to feeling an eerie pull towards the bridge when approached at night.
Regrettably, some deaths have transpired as individuals attempted to capture selfies on the bridge, while others tragically lost their lives during religious ceremonies, offering puja materials into the flowing river. Furthermore, several fatalities have occurred due to individuals jumping from the bridge.

Incidents documented in police records from Mandleshwar and Kasrawad confirm the presence of fatalities, revealing that at least six individuals have tragically lost their lives in the past five years alone by plunging into the depths of the river from the bridge. As a result, a profound fear has settled among the locals, particularly regarding nighttime crossings of the bridge. They now reserve such journeys for unavoidable circumstances, opting for vehicular transportation over walking whenever possible.

From its very inception, tragedy had cast a shadow over its construction. A significant accident during the building process led to a section of the bridge collapsing, tragically entombing 20 to 25 workers beneath its rubble.
