Valentine's Week is here, bringing with it roses, proposals, chocolates, teddies, hugs, kisses and a whole lot of love!
The week began with Rose day on 7 February. The tradition on the day typically involves giving a single red rose to express love and affection.
But Indians bought not just one rose or a bouquet of roses, but 108 roses per minute - revealed Blinkit's CEO!
Surpassed roses sold on Rose Day last year
Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Indians quite literally bought 108 bouquets per minute.
In fact, he revealed that just by 11 am on 7 February, the company had sold more roses than they had done on Rose Day in 2023.

One smart user commented, "Analysts estimates were based on expectation that you might tweet these stats and then some more folks will realise about the day."
The CEO also said that 20% of all orders since morning have been placed through their "Order for someone else flow". To this, he said, "Love that we are able to help so many folks send a valentine's gift today."
Only roses or something else too, netizens ask
Blinkit had a funny response to the update, saying, "kaun hai ye log. kaha se aate hai".
Another comment read, "Only roses or something else too?!?!"
"AND YET AGAIN I WONT GET EVEN ONE," one quipped.
Chocolates going by the ton, well before Chocolate Day
Not just rose day, Indians seem to be very excited for all the days leading up to Valentines' Day.
Dhindsa said that there is already a huge increase in sales of chocolate, before chocolate day even arrives on February 9.
"Looks like we'll easily sell more chocolates today than we did on chocolate day last year," he said while sharing a graph for the same.
He added that the graph is only for chocolate bar sales and the sales for Chocolate gift pack are separate.
