The outsourced website makes many such erroneous listings under 'Eminent Characters of Gujarat'. General Rajendrasinhji Jadeja, who was India's second Army chief, is described as a sportsperson too. Gijubhai Badheka, revered as one of Gujarat's greatest education reformists, is listed among top Gujarati industrialists or 'mahajans' like Premchand Raichand, Jamshedji Tata and Kasturbhai Lalbhai. Badheka was a lawyer, who was born in 1885.

Famous 13th century architects Vastupal and Tejpal, who built famous Jain temples during the Vaghela dynasty, are described as industrialists as well. Gujarat's founder, Sultan Ahmed Shah, has been categorized as a person known for "meditation".

General Administration Department (GAD) officials blamed outsourcing for the mistakes. "The official website of the Gujarat government is being managed by a private IT firm. It is not managed by GAD," said GAD secretary (services) Dhananjay Dwivedi.
