Indian Railways' 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' Train Commences 17-day Journey With 100% Occupancy
Shri Ramayana Yatra Train commenced its journey from Delhis Safdarjung Station. The special train will cover seven destinations related to Lord Ram in the next 17 days. The Shri Ramayan Yatra train has been launched under the Dekho Apna Desh see your country initiative.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation's (IRCTC) 'Shri Ramayana Yatra' Train, today, commenced its journey from Delhi's Safdarjung Station. The special train will cover seven destinations related to Lord Ram in the next 17 days.
The Ramayana Yatra Luxury Train took 140 passengers from Safdarjung Railway Station.
The Shri Ramayan Yatra train has been launched under the ¡°Dekho Apna Desh¡± (see your country) initiative by IRCTC.
The deluxe AC train provides two types of accommodation- 1st AC and 2nd AC. It also has security features of CCTV cameras and security guards for each coach. The train also features 2 fine dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in coaches etc: IRCTC

The IRCTC has planned a series of Shri Ramayana Yatra Tours and other trains with different packages will also be launched soon.

"IRCTC has planned the train tour packages utilising its Pilgrim Special Tourist Trains and Deluxe Tourist Trains duly understanding the requirement of the budget and premium segment tourists,¡± it said in a statement.
Other packages include 12 nights / 13 days Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Madurai, which will depart on November 16.
The first Shri Ramayana Yatra train departed from Delhi's Safdarjung Railway Station.

To meet the requirement of the pilgrim tourist market of south India, IRCTC will be operating Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Madurai with its budget-segment train consisting of sleeper class coaches, the statement said.
The statement said that there is also the 16 nights / 17 days package of the Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Sri Ganganagar and the train will depart on November 25.
For budget segment tourists of North India, the IRCTC is operating the Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Sri Ganganagar with its pilgrim special tourist trains.
