Despite the best of efforts, he was declared brain dead on March 16.
Following the proper organ donation protocol, ¡®Jeevasar-thakathe¡¯ officials initiated the process and took permission in writing from the family members.
After the recipients were chosen based on a waiting list, the organs were harvested.
Jeevasarthakathe is a government body responsible for overseeing cadaver organ donation in Karnataka.
The heart was transplanted into a patient at KLES Hospital.
His kidneys were sent to SDM Hospital in Dharwad and Tatwadarsha Hospital in Hubballi through a green corridor.
The corneas and skin were donated to the KLE eye bank and skin bank.
Meanwhile, his liver was airlifted within hours to Bengaluru.
His organs ended up saving 6 lives.
The man in death gave people life.
