Man outsmarts scammer, makes him transfer Rs 20 to his account

However, recently a scammer learned the hard way that not everyone can be fooled easily after the fraudster got scammed. A social media user shared his story on how he dealt with a scammer who was trying to make some quick money from him.

Scammer asks potential victim for money
The social media user, who goes by the name Jay, shared the details of his conversation with the scammer. It appears that the conversation started on a dating app before moving to WhatsApp. The scammer, who goes by the name Yami Tinderella and is presumably a man pretending to be a woman, asks Jay if he can do her a favor. She asked Jay if he could send her Rs 1,000, which she promised to return in a few hours. She also shared her Google Pay number with Jay to transfer the amount.

How scammer got scammed
For the scammer, everything was going as per plan till now, but out of the blue, something changed. Jay sent her a message saying that he tried transferring money to her account but was failing due to some technical reasons. Jay then asked the scammer to try transferring Rs 20 to his account to check if everything was working fine. When Yami did the same, Jay confirmed that he got the money and soon blocked the scammer. Jay shared the entire episode on social media with a caption reading "Scammer got scammed."

How social media reacted
The post soon went viral, and many on social media lauded Jay for his quick thinking to outsmart the scammer. Many called him a legend and even sought tips from him. Some also suggested that Jay should be awarded.
