208 kg cocaine worth Rs 2,000 crore, concealed in 'Tasty Treat' snack packets, seized in Delhi

In a major crackdown on drugs, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has seized cocaine weighing around 200 kg, which is estimated to be worth Rs 2,000 crores in the international market, from the Ramesh Nagar area of West Delhi on Thursday. According to the police, the large consignment of drugs was concealed in packets of namkeen and was recovered from a closed shop.
Drugs hidden inside namkeen packets
Around 20-25 packets of snacks with 'Tasty Treat' and 'Chatpata Mixture' written on them were recovered by the police.
"Delhi Police Special Cell has recovered a consignment of cocaine from a closed shop in Ramesh Nagar. About 200 kg of drugs have been recovered, whose value in the international market is more than Rs 2,000 crore. This drug was kept in packets of namkeen," the police said.

Suspect on the run
According to the police, a UK citizen, who is believed to have stored the drugs is on the run.
"200 kg of cocaine was recovered from the warehouse in Ramesh Nagar. The person who kept the drugs in that warehouse is a UK citizen and after keeping the cocaine there, he is absconding," the police said.
Second major drug bust in a week
This is the second major drug bust in Delhi in a week and according to the police, the two incidents are related.
On October 2, the Delhi Police had busted an international drug syndicate and seized more than 560 kg of cocaine from Mahipalpur, worth Rs 5,000 crore, which was the biggest cocaine haul in the national capital in recent times.
A total of four people, including Tushar Goyal, Himanshu and Aurangzeb, who were caught with the drugs and Akhlaq, who allegedly transported the consignment were arrested by the police.
According to the investigators, it was during the interrogation of Akhlaq, they received information about the involvement of the UK citizen.
