India is the best example of unity in diversity. We have a vast mix of religions and cultures but we have managed, more often than not, to live in harmony. One such case has come forward after a Muslim councillor arranged Rs 5.34 lakh for a Hindu temple.
As per a report in The New Indian Express, Najimudeen Jahabersadik came to priest Chidambaram for votes and the latter said he would emerge victoriously.
His only wish was a circumambulatory path for the Muthu Mariamman Temple in Manamkeludi. Both things did happen.
When the funds were released after a brief delay, Najimudeen, who was in Dubai during the lockdown, got the cash for the temple.
¡°Najimudeen helped build the path the first thing after assuming office. This proves that God is one,¡± said Chidambaram.
Humanity before religion is just what our country needs.
Such incidents only strengthen the bond between communities.
