Reason for the Passport Seva Portal Downtime
The Passport Seva portal is used by thousands of people every day for various passport-related services. To keep the system running smoothly, technical maintenance is necessary. Services Affected During Maintenance
During this time users won¡¯t be able to access the system, and it will affect services not only for citizens but also for various government authorities. These include the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Regional Passport Offices (RPO), Bureau of Immigration (BOI), India Security Press (ISP), Department of Posts (DoP), and the Police.

Rescheduling Appointments
If you have an appointment scheduled for Friday, August 30, 2024, there¡¯s no need to worry. The government has made plans to reschedule these appointments, and you will be notified of the new date and time as soon as possible. According to a source from the Ministry of External Affairs, this maintenance is a routine task, and rescheduling appointments will be handled smoothly to avoid inconvenience to the public.
