'Avoid Eating At Stations': Rats Spotted Feeding On Food At IRCTC Stall In Viral Video

A shocking incident unfolded at Itarsi Junction railway station in Madhya Pradesh when rats were captured on camera feasting on food laid out at a stall.

The incident has raised questions about the hygiene and safety standards of food served to train passengers. A video circulating online shows the rodents casually moving through plates filled with snacks and containers placed on the ground at the IRCTC stall.

A video capturing the incident was shared by Saurabh, a self-proclaimed rail enthusiast with the username name "Train wale bhaiya." The footage quickly went viral on social media, drawing attention to the apparent lack of hygiene control at railway station food stalls. The video shows rats feed on the food in the absence of humans, raising concerns about the quality and safety of the eatables being served.

Expressing his caution, Saurabh mentioned that he personally avoids eating food from such establishments. The video was uploaded with a humorous caption that read, ¡°Rats on IRCTC food Inspection Duty.¡±

Railway authorities were quick to respond to the viral video. The Railway Seva handle, on Sunday, assured users that the incident is being investigated, and necessary action will follow from the Bhopal Division of the West Central Railway. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the said division also commented, stating that the ¡°matter is being notified to concerned officials¡± to ensure prompt action is taken to address the issue.

This incident is the latest in a series of occurrences involving rats infiltrating food items. A recent video has garnered significant attention, showing a man engaged in the preparation of puris. In the footage, the individual is seen frying puris in a pan placed on the floor, adopting an unhygienic approach to the cooking process.

While focused on his task, a change in the camera angle reveals the disconcerting presence of large rats freely roaming around. To compound the concern, one rat is even captured moving across the vessel containing the flour used for making puris.
