Relatives Torture Ghaziabad Woman To Death With Blade & Rod, Play Loud Music To Muffle Her Screams
The victim had gone to the house of her relatives Heena and Ramesh in Ghaziabad's Siddharth Vihar on Monday to attend their son's birthday party. While she was there, jewellery costing Rs 5 lakh went missing from the house, and the couple presumed that Samina had pocketed it.
Cases of brutal killings by family or close relatives have been on the rise in India.
In one such horrific incident, a 23-year-woman was allegedly tortured to death by relatives on suspicion of stealing jewellery from their house in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh.
The attackers tortured the woman, identified as Samina, to get her to 'confess' and also played loud music to drown out her cries for help.
Eventually, the accused fled after the woman's death, and Police became aware of the crime only after the neighbours reported the incident suspecting the loud music playing in the house non-stop for two days.
Victim was at relative's house for a party
The victim had gone to the house of her relatives Heena and Ramesh in Ghaziabad's Siddharth Vihar on Monday to attend their son's birthday party. While she was there, jewellery costing Rs 5 lakh went missing from the house, and the couple presumed that Samina had pocketed it.
After that, Heena, Ramesh and others started attacking the 23-year-old with sticks and rods. They escalated the torture by slicing parts of her body with a blade to extract a 'confession' while playing loud music to stop her screams from reaching out to the neighbours.
Accused fled but left music on
The accused escaped when Samina died from torture but left the music on. Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar said a search is on for the accused.
"The accused played loud music so that Samina's screams would not be heard. Neighbours alerted us after the music kept playing non-stop for two days. Investigation is on," Kumar was quoted as saying by NDTV.
Couple killed in Madhya Pradesh

As per the reports, the victims were identified as Shivani Tomar and Radheshyam Tomar. Both were in a relationship that the girl's family objected to. Despite strong objections to their association, the young couple continued to meet each other, thereby enraging the family.
