The Plight Of The Farmers Fighting To Save Their Livelihoods Is Heartbreaking
Thousands of farmers from Haryana and Punjab left for Delhi in tractors trolleys and other vehicles to protest the laws. They were met with retaliation by police personnel at Shambhu Barrier in Ambala Haryanas. Many farmers were injured after police used force but their resolve to reach Delhi and protest remained intact.
As the farmers' protest rages on in Delhi-NCR, pictures and videos from the protest have shown the brutality the farmers have been met with for protesting peacefully against the contentious farms laws.
The farmers were earlier attacked with tear gas and water cannons in the freezing night of November as they marched towards the national capital. Pictures of farmers facing water cannons and tear gas shells went viral on social media drawing criticism for state governments trying to suppress their voice.
Two such pictures of elderly farmers with a swollen face and an injured eye are going viral on social media, with people saying that this is not a way to treat the farmers who feed the entire nation.
Look at the democracy in india if a 80 year old farmer want to protest peacefully against the government firstly the police not let them enter in delhi if they enter this is what they get. Shame on the Government #FarmersProtest #KisanProtest #IamWithFarmers pic.twitter.com/gtwxUHCjuy

This farmer is 70 years old and has been injured because tear gas shells were left over it.The only agenda of the BJP is that first wound and then the angry farmers will hurt the cops, then they will call them a terrorist or khalistan.Shame on u BJP#KisanProtest #FarmersProtest pic.twitter.com/rovpDIjbAA
