#Wholesome2023: Student-Teacher Duo From Bengaluru Ace CLAT 2024, Achieve Rank 2 & 3

One of the most competitive exams for law aspirants in India and the toughest to crack is the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

So imagine the joy when a student-teacher duo from Bengaluru managed to crack the CLAT 2024 - with both ranking within the top 5 as well. A #Wholesome2023 for them, indeed.

CLAT 2024 undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) results were released on December 10.

Student-teacher duo makes it to top 5 of CLAT 2024

A student and his teacher from Bengaluru made it to the Top 5 all-India rankings for CLAT 2024. Pradhyot Shah, a class 12 student from Mallya Aditi International School, secured rank 2, while his teacher at Career Launcher, Indiranagar Rahul Pulakurthy, secured the third rank.

Both Pradhyot and Rahul secured the same score, but Pradhyot ranked higher due to better performance in the legal section.

Who are the student-teacher duo?

Pradhyot had been keen on a law career for long. Once he identified law as his passion, he had been wholly focused on cracking the CLAT.

"The power of a lawyer in impacting a citizen's life drew me to take up law for my higher studies," Pradhyot said. He added, "I cannot believe that I have scored as much as Rahul sir. He is simply excellent in what he does."

For Rahul sir, rather than a career in law, it was a passion for teaching that led him to give the CLAT 2024. It was a question of further sharpening his teaching skills by appearing in the entrance exam and learning about the challenges first-hand.

This was the third time that Rahul Pulakurthy, a business partner at Career Launcher, took the test - and landed up with his best ranking thus far.

"As a mentor, I take the exam to better plan teaching strategies. An exam is never completely predictable and that is why a candidate ought to able to adjust," Rahul said.

What was the difficulty level of CLAT 2024?

"This time... the English section was extremely easy. The right approach was to speed up that section and save some time for the other ones," said Rahul.

He added, "Any section can be tough. It's the adjustments you make that count. How one approaches an exam and draws up a strategy are important."

CLAT is a national-level entrance exam for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programme admissions offered by 22 National Law Universities in India.

The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to an integrated undergraduate degree in Law (BA/BBA/B.COM/B.SC/BSW LLB) and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws (LL.M) programs offered by these law schools.

CLAT 2024 was conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 2 PM to 4 PM, and the results were released on December 10.
