'It's Me Making You Win,': SRK's Witty Pep Talk In KKR Dressing Room After Hat-Trick Of Wins In IPL 2024
IPL 2024: KKR, led by Shreyas Iyer and mentored by Gautam Gambhir, has won all three of their opening IPL 2024 matches. Victories include a close win against SRH, a dominant performance over RCB, and an impressive display against DC. This marks a strong comeback after two playoff-less seasons.
IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was visibly overjoyed with the team's recent triumph over the Delhi Capitals (DC) and took the opportunity to address the players post-game in the dressing room.
Shah Rukh Khan watched the game from the stands and later engaged with the players from both teams on the field.
In a recent video shared by KKR's Twitter handle, King Khan spoke to the players after the win, stating: "God bless you all. Nice to see Varun taking those catches. Nice to see Sunil running so hard. Nice to see all of you smiling and so happy. God bless you all. Just be healthy and coach tells me it's me who is coming and making you guys win. So, next time, if I'm not there, just try harder without me. I will try to be there and assist you guys and do all that I do. Thank you very much, and be healthy."
Shah Rukh's remarks prompted laughter and applause from the players and support staff.
In the match against DC, KKR delivered a dominant performance, posting the second-highest IPL total of 272/7 en route to their 106-run victory.
KKR came close to surpassing the IPL's highest total of 277/3 set by Sunrisers earlier this season. While Sunil Narine's explosive 39-ball 85 (7x4, 7x6) laid a solid foundation, Angkrish Raghuvanshi's debut half-century (54; 27b, 5x4, 3x6) and Andre Russell's rapid 41 (19b, 4x4, 3x6) propelled KKR to the massive total.

Chasing the formidable target, the Capitals never found their rhythm, losing four wickets within the powerplay.
DC captain Rishabh Pant showcased some breathtaking shots, notably hitting Venkatesh Iyer for 28 runs in the 12th over during his 23-ball half-century (55; 25b; 4x4, 5x6). He combined for a 93-run partnership with Tristan Stubbs, but his dismissal in the 13th over off Varun Chakravarthy (3/33) sealed the game for KKR.
After two consecutive seasons of missing the playoffs in 2022 and 2023, KKR has kicked off IPL 2024 with a bang.
With former captain Gautam Gambhir returning as team mentor and Shreyas Iyer back at the helm, the side has experienced a resurgence in their opening three games. Their season commenced with a high-scoring nail-biter against SRH, where Harshit Rana's heroics secured a five-run win.
KKR then dominated RCB from start to finish in Bengaluru, clinching victory by seven wickets. This was followed by their impressive performance against DC in Visakhapatnam, marking a hat-trick of wins.
Alongside RR, KKR stands as the only team in the ten-team race yet to suffer defeat in IPL 2024.
The team will aim to extend their winning streak in their upcoming match against defending champions CSK on Monday, April 8.
