China is set for early-stage human tests for two experimental vaccines in the fight against coronavirus that has taken so many lives all over the world, according to state media Xinhua reported.
The vaccines are being made by a unite based in Beijing belonging to the Nasdaq-listed Sinovac Biotech along with Wuhan Institute of Biological Products which is an affiliate of state-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group.
Last month, China gave the go-ahead for yet one more clinical trial of a coronavirus vaccine candidate which was developed by China¡¯s Academy of Military Medical Sciences plus HK-listed biotech firm CanSino Bio. This was just after U.S. drug developer Moderna said it was testing on humans with their vaccine with the U.S. National Institutes of Health.
More than 120,000 people have died worldwide due to the virus and over 19,00,000 are affected.
The virus originated in China and then spread to parts of Europe and Asia before touching the shores of USA. It was brought the world to a standstill as life itself has been affected with all kinds of services being disrupted.
WHO has already declared that coronavirus is 10 times more deadlier than swine flu which was a large scale pandemic back in 2009. So it will take some time for things to go back to normal. But this is some good news as a ray of hope may begin to appear soon.
