'Country run by miserable childless cat ladies': JD Vance's 2021 viral clip has Jennifer Aniston & Swifties enraged, watch
JD Vance's old remark about "childless cat ladies" running the country has resurfaced, sparking outrage from Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift fans.
JD Vance, Donald Trump's running mate, is facing mounting backlash after a 2021 clip resurfaced in which he takes a dig at Vice President Kamala Harris. The video has not only drawn criticism from actress Jennifer Aniston but also ignited a passionate response from Taylor Swift's fans.
So, what's behind the uproar?
In a 2021 clip that has now gone viral, JD Vance made headlines by claiming the country is run by "a bunch of childless cat ladies" who are supposedly "miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made" and "so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too."
He further argued that figures like Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and AOC, who are "without children," shouldn't be in charge because they lack a "direct stake" in the nation's future.

This remark has sparked outrage from multiple fronts.
Actor Jennifer Aniston, who has been open about her desire for children and has previously expressed disappointment about not having them, took to Instagram on Wednesday to voice her disbelief.
"I truly can't believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States. Mr. Vance, I hope your daughter is blessed with the chance to have children of her own one day," said the 55-year-old Friends star, who is currently single, and has no children.

In a 2005 interview, Aniston had famously said, "I've never in my life said I didn't want to have children. I did and I do and I will! ... I would never give up that experience for a career."
Adding to the uproar, singer Taylor Swift's fans are up in arms, dubbing Vance's comments "baby factory misogyny."
Journalist Anna Bower posted on X, "Hell hath no fury like a certain childless cat lady who hasn't yet endorsed a presidential candidate."

US Presidential elections 2024: Who's who
Just a week ago, President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 U.S. Presidential race, throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
Meanwhile, on July 15th, Republican candidate Donald Trump announced Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate for the upcoming election which essentially means that if Trump wins, Vance would become Vice President.
Notably, Vance has an Indian connection through his wife of ten years, Usha Chilukuri Vance, a trial lawyer and judicial clerk with roots in Andhra Pradesh.
