Bizarre Predicament - Dubai Man Pays Girlfriend's Traffic Fines With Wife's Credit Card

A woman living in Dubai reported a credit card hacking incident and got the shock of her life when she realised it was her husband who used the card to pay his girlfriend's traffic fines, as per a TNN report.

She got a notification from the bank of a charge on her credit card. She told them to freeze it and then informed the cops as she thought it was stolen.

The police got a complaint from a woman of a stranger who used her credit card to pay traffic fines, said Captain Abdullah Al Shehi who is the Deputy Director of Cyber-Crime Department at Dubai Police according to Gulf News. While the probe was on, the woman was called.

Luckily her card had not been the victim of hacking, but the reality was something bigger.

It turned out that the woman who used it was her husband's girlfriend.

"We tracked the purchase transaction and identified the woman who used the card. She was summoned to the Cyber-Crime Department for questioning and the surprise was she didn¡¯t know her male friend was married," said Captain Al Shehi.

"It was a strange case because the wife didn¡¯t know that her husband used her credit card to pay his friend¡¯s traffic fines. The friend didn¡¯t know that he was married and the wife didn¡¯t know that he had a girlfriend," he added.

It looked worse for the man as his girlfriend did not know he was married until she was called during the investigation.

A bizarre situation indeed and not a pretty predicament.
