Saturday's airstrikes inside Iran could further complicate the volatile situation in the region, as Israel is already involved in a multi-front war in Gaza, Lebanon and Iraq targeting Iran-backed pro-Palestinian militant groups.
On October 1, Iran carried out a massive missile attack on Israel, launching around 180 ballistic missiles, most of which were shot down by Israeli air defenses. This was in response to the recent assassinations of top Hamas and Hezbollah leaders by Israel.
