AI is everywhere these days¡ªso much so that it's now making a bid for UK elections! Yes, you heard that right. An AI entity throwing its hat into the political ring has us all scratching our heads. But before we dive into the whys and hows, let's unravel how this futuristic twist actually came to be.
AI Steve is an 'artificial' actual participant in Britain's upcoming July 4 national election and is running as an Independent.
AI Steve is the brainchild of Steve Endacott, a self-described entrepreneur based in Rochdale who also keeps a residence in Brighton.
Unlike traditional candidates, AI Steve's campaign features an AI-generated avatar rather than Endacott himself on campaign materials.

The 59-year-old is known for his ventures in both the travel sector and as the chair of Neural Voice, an artificial intelligence company.
AI Steve engages with constituents in real-time on a variety of issues, ranging from LGBTQ rights and housing to waste management and immigration. It solicits feedback and proposes policies based on these interactions.
"We're launching a party, and after this election, we plan to recruit more AI candidates nationwide," Endacott told Reuters.
He envisions AI Steve as the first step towards a more democratic political landscape.
Endacott promises that AI Steve will attend Parliament and vote on policies guided by feedback from constituents. The AI representative uses Endacott's voice and an avatar to respond to inquiries and address concerns.
On his website, Endacott explains that AI Steve was designed to provide round-the-clock access for residents of Brighton and Hove to voice opinions and shape policies.
This innovative approach to politics has sparked intrigue and discussion as the election draws near.
What are your thoughts on the use of AI in politics? Do you believe it's ethical for AI to represent and make decisions for constituents?
