According to claims on Reddit, an image on an ancient Egyptian sarcophagus dating back more than 3,000 years appears to bear an uncanny resemblance to Marge Simpson. The coffin was discovered late last year in a 3,500-year-old cemetery in Minya, Egypt, and is believed to belong to senior officials and priests of the New Kingdom from 1550 BC to 1069 BC.

Image of Goddess Nut
According to the Reddit post, the tomb dates back to the "New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty (circa 1186-1069 B.C.)," and the image depicted is the goddess Nut.
"That's the goddess Nut. I've seen the other pieces belonging to this grave. I think the parents (the deceased was a 16-year-old girl) may just not have had a lot of money, so they did the best they could afford," one user said.
Goddess Nut or Marge Simpson
But others were quick to point out similarities between the image and Marge.
"Egypt predicted The Simpsons," one user wrote. "Marge also only has four toes, so the plot only thickens for a simulated universe," added another.
"The only documented time in history where The Simpsons didn¡¯t do it first," quipped a third. While a fourth penned: "I know The Simpsons have been on for a long time, but I didn¡¯t know that long."

Proof of time travel
Some others also argued that the image was proof of time travel.
"Just further proof that the creators of The Simpsons can definitely travel through time."
"Well, it's chronologically impossible for the ancient Egyptians to have known about Marge Simpson, so, ipso facto... Time-traveling aliens must be involved. There's no other logical explanation," added another.
