Shah, a proud father of two daughters, was warmly congratulated by the cricketing fraternity on the special occasion. Amid the ongoing IPL 2025 Mega Auction, the news brewed the excitement at the event. This year the auction is expected to be one of the most thrilling ones.

Congratulatory messages flood in
Former Indian team opener Shikhar Dhawan shared a sweet congratulatory message on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, "Congratulation Jay Shah, brother. I wish the child a healthy and happy life. Let us tell you that Jay Shah is currently in Jeddah for the mega auction of IPL 2025. This auction will last for two days."

In February 2015, Shah got hitched with his college classmate Hrishita Patel in a traditional Gujarati ceremony. The wedding was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-ranking public officials.
Shah to take over as ICC president
Jay Shah, the BCCI chairperson, is going to take over the role of Independent Chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC) from December 1, 2024.
He started his journey in cricket administration in 2009. Since October 2019 he has been the BCCI Secretary and was re-elected in 2022. Apart from that, he also served as the ACC President from 2021 to 2024, contributing to a steady rise in the growth of cricket as a sport in India.
Meanwhile, India created history by defeating Australia by 295 runs in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Monday. The team was playing for the first Test match at the Perth where they discovered themselves in a position of strength.
