RCB hit back with two big wickets in the powerplay!
SRH lost their first wicket on the final ball of the 4th over. Lungi Ngidi delivered a full ball on middle and leg, and Abhishek Sharma attempted a flick towards deep backward square. But Phil Salt charged in from the boundary and took a sharp, low catch. Abhishek's fiery innings came to an end at 34 off just 17 balls, including 3 fours and 3 sixes.
RCB struck again in the very next over. Bhuvneshwar bowled a back-of-a-length knuckleball outside off and saw Travis Head go for an aggressive slap. However, he failed to connect cleanly and the ball went straight up, and Romario Shepherd took a simple catch at mid-off. Head managed to get 17 runs in 10 balls of which he smashed 3 fours.
Despite the back-to-back blows right after a blistering 50-run opening stand, SRH still managed a strong start, reaching 71/2 at the end of the Powerplay.
