During a Group C clash at the Sports Hub International Cricket Stadium in Trivandrum, Patidar played a vital knock, scoring 92 runs off 142 balls against Kerala. He, however, was just eight runs shy of a well-deserved century.

His dismissal came off the bowling of Nedumankuzhy Basil, with the catch being taken by Akshay Chandran. Despite falling short of the century, Patidar's innings was filled with impressive shots, including 11 boundaries. His contribution was vital in helping Madhya Pradesh gain a solid lead of over 220 runs.
Rajat Patidar's form
Despite starting the match on a low note with a two-ball duck in the first innings, Patidar's second innings saw him get back on track and help his team move forward with confidence. The batter's form this season has been nothing short of spectacular as he has 519 runs in the ongoing Ranji Trophy, averaging 51.4 and has continued his fine run from previous seasons.
In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy earlier this year, Patidar scored a blistering 428 runs with a strike rate of 186.08, followed by a stellar 226 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, averaging 56.5. His consistency across various formats has made him one of the most reliable batters in domestic cricket.
Ruturaj Gaikwad's form
Another batter who is also in form is Maharashtra's skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. The batter also displayed his talent, scoring a brilliant 89 runs off just 83 balls against Baroda. His knock included 14 boundaries and two sixes, and although he missed a century by just 11 runs, it helped Maharashtra extend their lead by over 400 runs. Gaikwad, who had a rough start to the match with only 10 runs in the first innings, bounced back impressively, racing to a half-century off just 39 balls.
