Usain Bolt, The World's Fastest Man Who Is In A League Of His Own

When Usain Bolt runs, it seems that the race is for 2nd place, because he seems to be in his own zone. Truth be told, Bolt is in his own league. He may be retired, but in his prime he was second to none. Really there was no equal in the true sense of the term.

The man holds the world record for being the fastest in 100m (9.58 seconds) and 200m (19.19 seconds). He just ran with immense pace and the man who came in 2nd would not be anywhere close to him. The same thing happened at the Olympics as well.

His rich haul of medals speak for themselves. A total of 8 gold medals at the Games out of an international haul of 23 golds. Overall he has 30 international medals to his name.

2016 was his last Olympic appearance, but even then he looked to be in his own lane.

While his career may have ended inauspiciously and with injury in 2017, the legacy he leaves behind is one that is virtually impossible to match.

A true legend who ran with passion and when he ran, it was poetry in motion.

On August 20, 2009, he once again left us enthralled with 200m raced in 19.19 seconds. There seemed to be no stopping him.

But the man maintains that winning the Olympic golds was his special moment on the track.

"For me, the Olympic Games gold medals will always be the highlight. I always ran for medals over time. Having the medals and the times is the best of both worlds," he once told TOI.

"I definitely miss the buzz of competing and getting the energy from the crowd in a packed stadium, but I am very happy with my decision to retire and have no regrets on that front. Since my retirement I have put my energy into other projects and have been very busy with them," he added.

For Bolt, it was the medals and not the records that made him run. That is why loved to watch him. He was second to none and left the others far behind. Yes, he may no longer be running, but the legacy he leaves behind will keep on running forever.
