He is only the 2nd player with 7000 runs in ODI chases after Sachin Tendulkar who aggregated 8720 runs while chasing in ODI cricket. The 89-run knock in Bangalore was also Virat Kohli¡¯s 100th fifty-plus score in ODI cricket. He is only the 5th player to smash 100 fifty-plus scores and the 2nd from India after Sachin Tendulkar (145).
There were other slew of records that Virat Kohli broke in the process of his knock. He also became only the 8th captain to aggregate 5000 ODI runs as captain. He completed this milestone in only 82 innings; the fastest to get there.
