Vivian Richards Spells Out Virat Kohli's Success Mantra And We Couldn't Agree More
Virat Kohli has more than lived up to the expectations of Sir Vivian Richards. The Indian Test captain has broken all sorts of records in international T20s and ODIs in the last couple of years. On Friday he became the first Indian captain to score a double hundred on away soil.

Three years back Sir Vivian Richards, one of the best batsman to walk on earth, had said this about Virat Kohli - "I love watching Virat Kohli bat. He looks to me like an individual of my own heart. I love his aggression, and (he has) serious passion that I used to have. He reminds me of myself. He is an individual who doesn't back off from confrontation; someone who can stand his ground under pressure. I love that as you can't teach these instinctive aspects. Obviously, once Sachin retires, you can bank on Kohli as he is young enough and has a lot of time on his side. He will only improve and continue to get better."

Now, after breaking all sorts of records in international T20s and ODIs in the last couple of years, Kohli has more than lived up to that expectation of Viv Richards after dominating the run scoring. On Friday, he became the first Indian captain to score a double hundred on away soil, which is his best-ever innings.
"Kohli has that urge, has the will to succeed... Fire in the belly plus talent make Kohli special... I saw that fire on the 2014-15 Test series in Australia. Kohli got four hundreds in the four matches, sadly India didn't win any of those Tests," Richards said.
Not many people around the cricketing world can boast of a cricket stadium being named after them, but the West Indian legend is more fortunate to have the ground at Antigua's North Sound have his name. And it is on this ground that Kohli showed his class and proved that he can't be typecast into just a limited overs specialist.

Once again the Indian run machine marveled his fans and seeing his knock and composure on a slow wicket, the question rises, what is this man made of? How does he succeed always? Richards shed some light on this.
"A lot of batsmen are talented, have the skill which is there for all to see, yet don't have the fire in their belly, the fierceness to come out on top. That's what I've seen, what has impressed me so much," Richards told in an interview to Telegraph.

By the looks of it, Kohli's legend is only going to rise from here on and it won't be surprising to see more of such praise for the Indian Test captain.
