WWE SmackDown Results: Motor City Machine Guns to defend tag team championship against The Street Profits next week
Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have been wrestling together for nearly two decades for various independent promotions, later moving to ROH and TNA. Both hail from Detroit, also known as the Motor City. The tag team Motor City Machine Guns was born during their time in Ring of Honor.
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has announced two title matches for next week¡¯s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. These are for the WWE Women¡¯s Championship, where defending champion Nia Jax will face Naomi, and for the WWE Tag Team Championship, where the Motor City Machine Guns will defend their belts against The Street Profits.

The Street Profits revealed the news when the Motor City Machine Guns were being confronted by DIY on the November 8 episode of WWE SmackDown.

The tag team Motor City Machine Guns was born during their time in Ring of Honor, and the duo continued using the name when they joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2007.
In TNA, the Motor City Machine Guns are three-time World Tag Team Champions. Shelley and Sabin have also won the tag team belts in ROH and NJPW in Japan.
The Motor City Machine Guns left TNA in March 2024 and had a short-lived stint in All Elite Wrestling before signing with WWE.

They defeated Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (DIY) and Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa in consecutive matches to win their first championship in WWE.
