Carl Pei Promises OnePlus 5T Camera Update In December, Angers OnePlus 5 Users For No Mention
Carl Pei tweeted about upcoming OnePlus 5T camera update on the OnePlus forum, and the fact that he didn't mention OnePlus 5 angered some of the older OP5 users.
It's difficult being Carl Pei, the young co-founder of OnePlus, with a fanatical following. He can't be too careful about what he says online.

Especially about the OnePlus 5T, a touchy topic among OnePlus 5 users at the moment.
The OnePlus 5T has been available for purchase barely a week after it was launched, replacing the popular five-month old OnePlus 5. Needless to say, everyone who bought a OnePlus 5 in July are staring at the prospect of having their phone labelled as old, with the launch of the OnePlus 5T. Not a good place to be.

What complicates matter even more is the co-founder posting an update focusing on the newer OnePlus 5T, with absolutely no mention of the slightly older OnePlus 5. This has obviously not gone too well among OnePlus 5 users.

It all started when Carl Pei posted about the OnePlus 5T getting a camera update in early December. It would boost the OnePlus 5T camera's low light performance, especially when it comes to detail, improve selfies, and then some. But as you can see, the update had no mention about OnePlus 5 getting the same update. It didn't go down too well, obviously.

OP5 owners were the first to inform u abt the low light photos and to improve portrait mode. Now as 5T is new so @oneplus guys startd working on that. So typical of you to forget old customers
