It is no secret that artificial intelligence or AI is the next big thing -- whether in the field of medicine, finance or technology. This has caused authorities around the world to make a push to train kids in the field of AI.
And today is a proud day for the students of the CBSE as well as Intel.
Intel and the Central Board of Secondary Education have announced that they¡¯ve achieved a new Guinness World Record title for the most number of students to take an online AI lesson in 24 hours. This massive record involved 13,000 students from class 8 and above, learning the impact of AI and key considerations around its application, on October 13 and October 14th.
This training was a part of Intel¡¯s AI for Youth Virtual Symposium which is supposed to go on from October 13th to October 17. The symposium is one of the several efforts that are being implemented to encourage the youth of the nation to take active interest in the field of AI and see the impact of AI applications developed by their peers.
Shweta Khurana, Director - APJ, Global Partnerships and Initiatives at Intel said, ¡°Intel remains committed to working with the ecosystem to help unlock the profound and pervasive societal benefits of AI. Our collaboration with CBSE has so far led to several milestones in nurturing AI-readiness in the country, including the roll-out of an AI curriculum for students; setting up focused AI Skills Labs in the country; and skilling facilitators across CBSE schools.¡±
She added, ¡°The ongoing AI For Youth Virtual Symposium is yet another platform for students and teachers to be a part of an exponential wave of innovation and learn from local and global experts. The enthusiastic response to the virtual AI lesson from students across the country that helped set a record with Guinness World Records shows India¡¯s youth is engaged and eager to explore and innovate.¡±
